The factory audi crank pulley is made from a low quality metal that can fracture over time causing the keyway to shear. When this occurs its possible for the crankshaft to rotate freely from the crank pulley causing catastrophic valve interference and engine failure. These replacement pulleys are machined from EN19T tool steel, CNC machined and cut on a precision gear cutting machine heat treated and coated for anti-corrosion.
