After 9 months of MQB development, Iroz Motorsport is proud to release hardware for the MQB platform. All of these hardware kits are compatible with MK7 Golf R and GTI, 8v A3 and S3, as well as 8S TTS. These kits represent the latest technology, with the best materials available in the aftermarket.

After setting records in the 2.5TFSI platform, Iroz used the same formula to conquer the 2.0TSI EA888.3 engine. They based these kits on the Xona Rotor turbocharger that has brought incredible reliability, unmatched performance, and the ability to retain the electronic waste gate actuator in an internal waste gate format. We also love the turbochargers as they provide a truly modular package that offers upgrade paths if desired. All turbochargers are based on the same footprint of exhaust housing. 490hp-780hp kits are possible in the same basic housings and stainless CHRA. While the kit was developed around the IMS650, hardware and United Motorsport software is available for most sizes.

The 2.0T EA888.3 TSI engine has proven to be reliable to 420wtq. All of these kits can exceed this value if desired (ECU calibration). United Motorsport can limit torque flat to 420wtq to keep most of these kits out of torque that can hurt rods and pistons.

Note, with Xona Rotor identification, the first 2 numbers represent the pound per min airflow rating (lbs/min), while the last 2 numbers represent the turbine size in millimeters. IF a kit is chosen with a turbine wheel that is used in multiple sizes, you can upgrade power levels by buying only a supercore or by sending in your turbocharger for a 750$ compressor wheel and compressor cover upgrade. Example: You buy IMS610 with the 64mm turbine to start on stock motor. Later on, you build the engine and head and decide to upgrade to IMS780. You can send in the supercore and become IMS780 for 750$ total upgrade along with an inspection of the turbocharger. If turbine sizes do not match your intended upgrade path, you will need a new turbine housing and supercore to achieve that.

We also offer these kits with EFR 6758 or 7163 if desired. While the Xona Rotor turbos offer compressor maps that are more suited for a high boost, small displacement engine such as the EA888.3, the EFR can be very responsive and powerful if kept to where it shines the best: Sub 30psi. The V-banded housing gives slightly less wetting loss when compared to the T4 .80A/R so expect a small trade of spool for a slight increase in overall power. Ultimately the single scroll housing is a couple hundred rpm shift of powerband. The built in features of the EFR allow us to offer the turbocharger at a slightly lower price, combined with the lower price/materials used in the EFR allow us to release it at a lower price than the Xona Rotor. That savings is directly passed on to the customer.

EXPECTED POWER OUTPUT:

Because Iroz Motorsport is a small operation, they have not had the chance to calibrate all the Xona Rotor turbos that physically fit these kits. In their vast experience with the 2.5TFSI on the Xona Rotor turbos, use the following guideline for choosing your turbocharger.

Pump 91 octane fuel with proper supporting mods 81% the turbocharger's rating is available

Pump 93 octane fuel with proper supporting mods 83% of the turbocharger's rating is available

100 octane fuel with proper supporting mods is 86% of the turbochargers rating is available

MS109 fuel with proper supporting mods, 95% of the turbochargers rating is available

C16 fuel with proper supporting mods 100% of the turbochargers rating is available.

E70-E100 with proper supporting mods, 105% of the turbochargers rating is available

Charts are used to show this example with IMS650 utilizing the XR6564 in a .80 A/R housing, they are attached in the photo gallery of the kit.

The kit for Xona Rotor kits includes:

  • Xona Rotor Turbocharger with .80A/R hotside(.63 available upon request) and internal wastegate hotside vband in/out
  • Wastegate actuator bracket with hardware
  • Wastegate extender for factory actuator (turbo must be preloaded and vagcom adaptation performed)
  • Intake that adapts to most aftermarket or stock intakes (optional 3.5" piping available)
  • Factory return for PCV system
  • Charge pipe with BPV relocation pipe along with harness along with clamps/hoses
  • Downpipe with stock location o2 sensors, vband connection and factory hanger locatoin(brackets included). Stainless 321 construction, purged with flex coupler. Open termination to allow end user to mate any exhaust. While we planned on initially mating the exhaust to stock exhaust fitment, the reality is that most of these kits will need more exhaust.
  • High quality Parker oil lines with CNC'ed connections to the block for plug and play fitment
  • Water pipe and lines to make water line connection plug and play
  • CNC head to turbo adapter flange
  • All vband clamps
  • All gaskets

The kit for Borg Warner EFR kits includes: (Yes, you can get United Motorsport tuning on these turbos!!!)

Note: While these kits were designed for Xona Rotor turbochargers, EFR 7163 and EFR 6758 will work with a modified downpipe we will include. While a lot of the hardware is the same, if you plan on ever going above the power EFR B1 series turbochargers allow, we recommend spending the extra money for the higher quality Xona Rotor product, even if the initial horsepower rating is the same. Example: EFR7163 is a 60lb/min turbo whose equivalent Xona Rotor is the 6156. If you plan on building a motor in the future and doing a 700hp MQB car, consider the Xona Rotor kit to save money in the longterm.

SOFTWARE

United Motorsport can provide software for all North American ECUs. Existing UM customers will enjoy 400$ upgrade pricing, while the cost for all other customers will be 1000$. For launch, United Motorsport will use their dealer network to get the flashes to your ECU. We will handle flashes in our region. Hardware is available without software to anybody on Planet Earth. The liability and power output is solely on the individual however.

RECOMMENDED SUPPORTING MODS

Free flowing Intake: All of our testing on IMS650 was done with the Integrated Engineering Carbon intake. It is highly recommended IE VW MK7 GTI & GOLF R CARBON FIBER COLD AIR INTAKE

Exhaust: The stock exhaust on most MQB platforms does a very good job for power up to 500bhp. While the weight is high, the performance is decent. We plan on releasing our own exhaust 1st quarter 2017

Fueling: Secondary fuel injection is required above 500bhp. We were hoping to have our brushless in tank pump and secondary injection kit ready for our release, however that kit will be available late January along with full flex fuel capability. E85 will be supported to 650whp on full e85, or up to 800whp on race fuel. Midway ethanol blends will be automatic, requiring zero modification to tune. Target retail for Brushless LPFP and secondary fueling is 1900$

DSG software: United Motorsport is the only company that can hold the torque that most of our kits demand. Contact one of our sales representatives or United Motorsport for more detail

Manual Transmission: Clutch upgrade is a must. We like the Sachs upgraded PP/disk on stock Dual Mass flywheel.

Rods: Integrated Engineering connecting rods IE CONNECTING ROD SET FOR VW & AUDI MK7/MQB 2.0T WITH AFTERMARKET PISTONS

Pistons: Mahle Powerpak pistons IE SPEC MAHLE PISTON SET FOR VW & AUDI MK7/MQB 2.0T GEN 3

Intercooler: The stock intercooler will simply not put up with the CFM needed to power our kits. We recommend a proper intercooler and love the IE MK7 / MQB FDS PERFORMANCE INTERCOOLER

Valve Spring kit: Integrated Engineering Valve springs, European models require rocker modification

Engine mounts: Stock mounts need modifying if torque exceeds 500wtq on built motor. The engine rock pushes components where they should not be.

While all the hardware and 70+ individual components per kit are in stock, we will not stock all kit combinations. As we have done with the 2.5TFSI kits, we feel we can fulfill any order in 2-3 week lead time, with most going out prior to that.
